Some useful tips to better prepare for departure and carry out check-in and boarding operations at the airport

Before Departure

Useful Information for Passengers

Before leaving, it is strongly recommended to call the airline to ensure that the flight is operational.

  • Before departure, check that your passport or ID card valid for travel abroad has not expired
  • Attention: a driver’s license (except for the European one) is not recognized as a valid document for travel abroad.
  • Check your ticket and verify that name, surname, date, and time of flight are correct
  • Prepare any luggage in compliance with current rules and regulations
  • Arrive at the check-in counter well in advance of the airline’s scheduled times

At the airport, boarding operations:

Check-in and checked baggage acceptance

If luggage needs to be checked in, before proceeding to the security check, passengers must go to the dedicated counter to leave their suitcases to be loaded in the hold and receive the baggage sticker.

Passengers must present themselves at the check-in counters at least 40 minutes before departure or according to the airline’s instructions. In case of arrival outside the scheduled times or without the required documentation, boarding will not be authorized.

During check-in operations:

  • Passengers’ identity documents and boarding passes are checked
  • Checked baggage is controlled (weight, labeling, X-ray screening)
  • Checked baggage is loaded

Security Checks

Ryanair passengers flying on international routes who are not EU citizens must proceed to the VISA CHECK counter (flight information and ticketing office) before going through security control and have their boarding pass stamped.
Once check-in operations are completed, it is possible to reach the boarding area, which can only be accessed by presenting the boarding pass.

Passengers must present themselves at the check-in counters at least 40 minutes before departure or according to the airline’s instructions. In case of arrival outside the scheduled times or without the required documentation, boarding will not be authorized.

To facilitate controls, it is mandatory to:

  • Present the appropriate bag containing liquids to security staff for examination
  • Remove jacket and overcoat: they will be inspected separately
  • Remove laptops and other large electrical and electronic devices from hand luggage
  • Place all metal objects or personal effects (watch, belt, coins, wallet, etc.) in the appropriate container and insert it into the X-ray machine
